Devorah Kolko, LSW

Devorah is a Licensed Social Worker who works with adults across the lifespan. She has clinical interests in anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life stage transitions, stress, and grief and loss.

Devorah believes clients heal when they have an empathetic, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to process their experiences—one that allows them to face challenges, make sense of them, and see a path toward meaningful change. She is intentional about addressing both insight and action, helping clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves while also working toward concrete, practical steps forward. She sees the therapeutic relationship as an essential part of both healing and creating change.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory and integrates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and other modalities to meet clients’ needs. She helps clients gain insight into what’s happening for them and what’s needed for change, always keeping their goals in mind and collaborating closely to reach them. Clients often describe her as supportive, attuned, and a steady guide in their journey.

Devorah earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and her Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

Outside of work…

I am very busy with my kids! They keep me on my toes and it’s a constant balancing act to manage work and parenting. When I do get some free time (rarely!) I love to hang out with friends, read, travel, and try new recipes.
