Madeleine Puschautz, LPC

Madeleine is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, identity exploration, self-esteem, shame and guilt, suicidal ideation, and somatic symptoms. She also has a particular interest in imposter syndrome, parentification, and the relationship between music, the brain, and emotional well-being.

Madeleine takes an integrative, strengths-based approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy. She believes growth begins with self-awareness, self-compassion, and a strong therapeutic relationship, and works collaboratively with clients to build on their resilience, strengths, and capacity for meaningful change. When appropriate, Madeleine incorporates creative arts interventions as an evidence-based and accessible way for clients to process emotions, deepen self-expression, and connect more fully with themselves.

Madeleine is committed to creating a therapeutic space that is warm, authentic, culturally responsive, and free of judgment. She recognizes that beginning therapy requires both courage and vulnerability and strives to ensure clients feel safe, supported, and empowered as they explore what makes them uniquely human and work toward lives that reflect their values and goals.

Madeleine earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Illinois State University and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), and Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT).

Enjoys songwriting, reading neurological case studies, running, finding second-hand treasures, and sipping tea while spending time with loved ones and her spunky cat, Honey Bee.
